Scholarships offered by Carleton University

One of Canada’s most substantial scholarship and bursary programs is offered by Carleton University. Over 14,700 scholarships and bursaries worth more than $28.6 million were given to undergraduate students last year.

Entrance Scholarships

When you are admitted to Carleton, if your admissions average is 80% or higher, you will immediately be considered for a renewable entrance scholarship. These merit-based admission scholarships are also open to international students. By June 19 (deadline), Carleton’s Admissions Services must have received your whole application for admission and all necessary grades (either directly or through the Ontario Universities Application Centre). Entry Scholarship awards are not evaluated or reevaluated based on final high school grades.

Prestige Scholarships

Only if you are entering Carleton straight out of high school or a CEGEP will you be considered for a Prestige Scholarship. You must have an entrance average of 90% or higher to be eligible for any Prestige Scholarships. The selection committee will also evaluate the variety of your extracurricular activities from your community or secondary school. Application is necessary. The due date is March 1.

Additional Entrance Scholarships

  • Carleton Capital Scholarship 

Each year, up to 13 students will be chosen to earn a $2,000 award in their first year, one from each province and territory. Students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons starting the first year of a degree program and pursuing post-secondary studies for the first time to be eligible for the Carleton Capital Scholarship.

  • Awards for International Students

International applicants for September 2024 will automatically be considered for the International Award of Excellence OR the International Award of Merit in addition to the Entrance Scholarships.

  • Sprott School of Business Scholarships

The top applicants to the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree will receive the Dean’s Entrance Scholarship of Excellence, worth $2,000 or $4,000.

  • Faculty of Engineering and Design Scholarships

The top candidates who are enrolling in particular Bachelor of Engineering programs will get up to 60 scholarships, each worth between $1,000 and $5,000.

  • Page Program Entrance Scholarships

Participants in the House of Commons Page Program who are enrolling in a Carleton undergraduate degree program will be awarded up to 15 scholarships.

  • Arthur Kroeger College National Scholarships

The Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program will award up to 10 scholarships to new candidates.

  • Collins Memorial Entrance Scholarships for Earth Sciences

Students beginning their first year of an Earth Sciences program will get two or more scholarships, each worth between $1,000 and $4,000.

  • The Law Scholarship in Architectural Studies

An outstanding full-time undergraduate international student pursuing a Bachelor of Architectural Studies is eligible for a $10,000 scholarship each year.
