Eligibility Criteria for University of Calgary Scholarships for International Students

The candidate must meet each of the requirements listed below to be eligible for a University of Calgary scholarship:

Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Given annually to an international student starting their first year of study at the University of Calgary for an undergraduate degree. Renewable for the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary, given that the recipients complete at least 24.00 units in the preceding fall and winter terms with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • Academic excellence
  • Financial need
  • Must be a graduate of a Chinese high school that is accredited, including those in Hong Kong and Macau
  • Preference will be given to a student starting a program in urban studies for their bachelor’s degree in arts, science, engineering, or commerce.

University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Offered yearly to international undergraduate students who have met the university’s English language proficiency criteria and will be starting their first year of any undergraduate degree in the forthcoming fall term. Renewable in the second, third, and fourth years at the University of Calgary, given that the winners continue to pay the international differential tuition fee as an international student and attain a GPA of 2.60 or higher over a minimum of 24.00 units in the preceding fall and winter terms.
  • International students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents and who must pay a differential fee
  • Academic excellence.

How to Apply for University of Calgary Scholarships for International Students?

Kindly adhere to the below guidelines for applying to this scholarship:

  • Apply to the university for your undergraduate program.
    • Your application can now be opened. Make sure you have a UCalgary eID first.
    • To assist you with your application, refer to the application guide.
    • Pay the $145 application fee and submit your application.
    • We’ll notify you in your Calgary Student Center about the location and method of submitting the required documents based on your application. Go to the documents page to learn more.

 

  • Fill out the scholarship application and proceed as directed.
    • Use the myUofC portal to access your Student Center.
    • Select the “My Financials” page from within your Student Center.
    • After navigating to the Awards & Scholarships webpage, select “Apply for Undergraduate Awards” by scrolling down. Make sure popups are turned on. Should popups be blocked, the page won’t show up.
    • Your screen will display a pop-up window containing any open or recently closed applications. Please be mindful of the dates for the application deadline and availability.
