Award-winning Nigerian singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, widely known as Fireboy DML has explained the reason behind the enormous triumph of the Afrobeat music genre across the globe.
Speaking in an interview, the sensational singer intimated that Afrobeat has dominated and has now received the global recognition it deserves and the appearances the genre has made on so many global platforms are proof of the genre’s impact within the world’s music space.
Fireboy DML also explained that the reason why Nigerian talents have always been the frontrunners when it comes to the Afrobeats genre is that Nigerians make the best Afrobeat music.
“We make the best Afrobeat music. I think it is a lot of people about 200 million people and so many talents out there and personally, Nigerians we love to excel wherever we find ourselves so we go all out” he said.
Meanwhile, Fireboy DML happens to be the first Afrobeat singer to ever perform at the BET Awards. Earlier, the singer delivered a sizzling performance at the just-ended 2022 BET Awards.
The singer also became one of the few Nigerian musicians to secure nominations for this year’s edition of the prestigious award show. He was nominated for the Best International Act.
