Fireboy and Joeboy Early Life

Fireboy was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adefolahan on the 5th Of February 1996, in a Christian home in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Adedamola Adefolahan is the first son of three brothers, he developed a love for music when he started attending church fellowship with his mother, and later joined the church’s choir.

During this period, his artistry gift sprang up, and he started taking his musical career to the next level.

Joeboy was born into the Family of Mr. and Mrs. Akinfenwa-Donus on the 21st Of May 1997, joeboy was born and brought up in the city of Lagos.

His father Mr. Adefolahan and his brother were in the choir, his father was a vocalist while his brother was a keyboardist. So all this sprang up his passion for music, and he started making music.

Fireboy’s Career evolved when he was in University, Obafemi Awolowo University, He began spending more time writing songs, and performing in the school and later got acquainted with Nigeria Veteran Rapper and YBNL Boss Olamide, he was impressed by Fireboy’s God’s gift and decided to sign him into YBNL.

He rose to fame after the release of his melodious song Jealous on the 25th Of March 2019 under the YBNL Family, the song was trending all over Nigeria and the world at large, which gained him more fans.

His second hit song, What If I Say, was released 14th Of June 2019. The song, which Pheelz produced, and the music video were shot and directed by TG Omori.

After a few months, he returned with a new mind-blowing hit tagged, King, on the 1st Of August 2019 which had thousands of streams days after its release.

Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps his breakthrough Album was released on the 29th Of November 2019. The album, which houses 13 amazing tracks, and over 6 million Spotify streams, was recorded a few days after its release.

After the release of the Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps album, a year after he announced his second studio album titled, Apollo, which was released on the 17th Of August 2020. Apollo houses his hit single like Champion, Tattoo, Eli, and New York City Girl.

All this made him very popular in Nigeria and the world at large, After the release of his hit single Peru in 2021, he won the heart of top talented international artists. This allowed him to meet English singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran who asked him for collaboration on the Remix of his hit single Peru. The remix, which was dropped on the 5th Of February 2022, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Joeboy

Joeboy’s Career evolved when he was at University, University Of Lagos, he applied for the emPawa100 mentorship program and won and a grant was given to him, this allowed him to meet Mr. Eazi the founder of emPawa music, and later collaborated with him on his first hit song Fááji which was released on the 26th Of October 2018.

The new song Fááji helped him rise to fame because the song was trending all over Nigeria, this helped his career to take off, and later signed a Record deal with, Banku Records. On the 1st Of March 2019, Joeboy released a brand-new single under Banku Music Family titled, Baby, the new song was a hit, with over 20 million streams on YouTube and Spotify. The Video for Baby was also released with over a 31million views.

On the 15th Of August 2019, Joeboy came through with a new melodious song titled, Beginning, produced by Killertunes. The Visual for Beginning was shot also with over a 23million views on YouTube.

As time goes around November 2019 he announced his first studio EP titled, Love & Light, his breakthrough album which contains 5 tracks with a guest appearance from DMW artiste Mayorkun on the song Don’t Call Me Back.

On the 4th Of February 2021, Joeboy released another studio Project titled Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic which houses track like, Count Me Out, Number One and others.
